Redlands Gentle Dental Care understands that every person is unique just as every mouth is unique.
For this reason, we offer specific and personally tailored dental treatments to suit you and your individual needs. General dentistry treatments include root canal therapy, tooth coloured fillings, and gum disease treatment.
Our approach to treatment
One of the great strengths of our two practices (one in Victoria point the other in Capalaba) is that we can provide you and your family with comprehensive dental care. During your dental check-up, our dental team will examine your teeth and gums to evaluate your oral health. Your various needs will be assessed, and a treatment plan will be devised to resolve dental problems in a timely and cost-effective way.
Tooth coloured fillings
A filling restores a tooth that has been damaged by decay.
When you visit Redlands Gentle Dental Care for your regular check-up, one of our friendly dentists will scale and polish your teeth. Decay slowly eats away at your teeth causing damage. If not caught early on, you can go from need a simple filling to something more extensive such as root canal therapy.
The process
The white filling process involves your dentist:
- Removing the decay
- Cleaning the affected area
- Fill the cleaned out cavity with filling material
The filling material is matched the shade and colour of your natural teeth for a seamless appearance.
Gum disease
Did you know gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults? And that it is also the most preventable disease?
Gum disease has two stages: the first stage was gingivitis and the second stage (the stage that causes tooth loss) is periodontitis. Gingivitis is inflammation of the gums and is usually a precursor to periodontitis. Having said that, not all gingivitis progresses to periodontitis.
Symptoms of gum disease
Gum disease can develop painlessly with few—if any—obvious signs. Even in the late stages of the disease you may not notice your gums and slowly pulling away from your teeth. symptoms of gum disease include:
- Red, swollen or tender gums
- Gums bleed during and after tooth brushing
- Persistent bad breath
- Receding gums
- Formation of deep pockets between teeth and gums
- Loose or shifting teeth
- Changes in the way teeth fit together upon biting down.
At Redlands Gentle Dental Care in Capalaba and Victoria Point we offer gum disease treatment to help you maintain optimal oral health.
